Stairs of Sand by Zane Grey (1928)

As a Sequel to The Wanderer of the Wasteland it takes us beyond the WotW to the ultimate conclusion of the rivalry between the two brothers.

Not nearly the book that the Wanderer is its much more of a romance.

It continues to bring to light the issues of water rights, which are central to the story.

There is a huge amount of classic racism in the writing

There you go ALL in one sentence!

Zane emphasizes in the female character her youthful ambition and the use of her beauty to get men to do her bidding.

Easily you could pass this one by.
